Zoo Updates

Welcome to the zoo's news!

New baby elephant

elephant We recently welcomed a baby elephant to our zoo, and it's quite a story. This little guy, now known as Kavi, ended up here after a bit of a tough situation in a small town. He managed to escape from another zoo that couldn't handle him, and the town reached out to wildlife authorities for help. After some coordination, it was decided that our zoo was the best place for him. Getting Kavi to our zoo wasn't a walk in the park, but our zoo staff and rescue teams worked together to make sure it went smoothly. Once he arrived, our caretakers and vets gave him a thorough health check to ensure he was doing okay. Now, Kavi is stealing the spotlight at our zoo. We've set up a special space for him that mimics his natural habitat, complete with a mud pool for him to enjoy. Our staff is on top of things, monitoring his health, and providing him with a diet that suits his needs. We've also introduced enrichment activities to keep him active and happy. Kavi's story has spread beyond our town, attracting attention and reminding people about the importance of looking out for our wildlife. It's a success story that shows what can happen when wildlife authorities, rescue teams, and zoos collaborate to give animals a better life. Kavi has become a symbol of hope, proving that with a little care and teamwork, we can make a positive impact on the lives of endangered species.

Two new meerkats

meerkats Our zoo recently welcomed two charming meerkats, Max and Mia. The decision to bring in these curious and social creatures was driven by the zoo's plan to collect every animal to provide the best educational experience for guests. Max, with his alert posture and inquisitive gaze, and Mia, the agile and quick-witted meerkat, quickly became the stars of the show. The zookeepers designed their enclosure to resemble the arid landscapes of the meerkats' natural habitat, complete with sandy terrain, rocky outcrops, and tunnels for the duo to explore. Visitors were captivated by Max and Mia's antics, standing upright to scan the surroundings for predators, digging for insects, and engaging in playful wrestling matches. Families, school groups, and animal enthusiasts found themselves drawn to the meerkat habitat, eager to observe the captivating behaviors of these captivating creatures. The zoo staff made sure that Max and Mia had a dynamic and stimulating environment. Enrichment activities, such as hiding food, introducing digging challenges, and providing items to climb on, kept the meerkats mentally and physically engaged. This not only contributed to their well-being but also allowed visitors to witness the natural behaviors of these fascinating animals up close. Informative signs around the exhibit share interesting facts about meerkats, their cooperative social structure, and their role in the ecosystem. Zoo educators conduct interactive sessions, shedding light on the meerkats' daily lives, the challenges they face in the wild, and the importance of conservation.

Kora's 18th birthday

koala Recently, the zoo celebrated a momentous occasion, the 18th birthday of our beloved koala, Kora. The zookeepers were determined to make it an unforgettable day. They transformed the koala enclosure into a birthday wonderland. Vibrant decorations adorned the area, featuring eucalyptus-themed banners, colorful balloons, and a "Happy Birthday, Kora" sign. They also made a eucalyptus cake, carefully crafted with Kora's favorite leaves. Hidden within the leafy layers were treats like bits of apple and pear. The zookeepers, wore koala-themed attire, welcomed everyone and shared heartwarming anecdotes about Kora's journey and her distinctive personality. Kora, perched gracefully in her eucalyptus tree, seemed to sense the occasion. With a gentle nuzzle from the zookeepers, she made her way down to the cake. The crowd watched in awe as Kora explored the leafy layers, discovering the hidden treats and nibbling contentedly. Visitors, young and old, marveled at the sight of Kora enjoying her birthday feast. The zookeepers shared insights into koala behavior, highlighting the importance of conservation efforts to protect these animals and their natural habitats. To further engage the visitors, the zoo organized interactive activities such as koala-themed arts and crafts, educational workshops on eucalyptus ecosystems, and a "Meet the Keeper" session, allowing attendees to ask questions and deepen their understanding of Kora's daily life. As the day drew to a close, the celebration left a lasting impression on the hearts of zoo visitors. The birthday celebration had not only brought joy to the zoo but also reinforced the significance of wildlife conservation and the role zoos play in creating awareness and appreciation for the enchanting creatures that share our planet.
